Bethany Academy offers an academic programme from Kindergarten through class XII. The number of students in a class up to X is limited to thirty and XI and XII to twenty four for the purpose of ensuring individual attention. The academy is affiliated to the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations and prepares students for the year - 10 I.C.S.E. and the year -12 I.S.C (+2) examinations. The certificates awarded by the Council are recognized not only in India but in other countries as well. The curriculum is so designed that it contributes to both Indian and international education. Hence a student graduating from the Academy can confidently seek admission in a college or university any where in the world. The special science group of the I.S.C. course equips the student for furthering his studies either in Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Forestry etc. Arrangements are also made for coaching students for Entrance Examination in Engineering and Medicine. The portion for the Entrance Examinations is distributed over a period of three years and the coaching class start in class X. Admission to class XI will commence soon after the I.C.S.E. results. Students who have passed with first class in C.B.S.E or English Medium S.S.L.C. are also eligible for admission. An important aspect of the curriculum is in moral and spiritual values. The Bible itself used as the main textbook in these classes.
Faculty and Classes
Classes are tough and interesting too. They're taught by an outstanding, highly-respected faculty who feel a genuine concern for students while demanding their best. The Academy actively seeks teachers who are committed to personalized teaching. As a result, we develop a community where both faculty and students care for each other. The ideal of the Academy is to impart quality education to the children to take their right place in the Home, Church, Society and State. Co-Curricular Activities
Campus Life Living on campus is an exciting part of the Academy experience. The dorms are comfortable but that is not what makes it so special. What makes it fun and rewarding is experiencing the give and take of living and growing together with people who care and whose friendship is genuine. Facilities such as quiet study areas, chapel, recreation-centers and so on, are available on campus. Separate Residence Halls under the supervision of the Warden/Matron and the resident teachers are maintained on for campus, both girls and boys. For closer care and supervision of smaller children 'aunties' are there in hostel. There are resident teachers who are readily available to help the boarders at all times, especially during study hours, Special tuition classes are also arranged for the weak students. The Matron manages the food that is served in the dining hall and every effort is taken to provide the children with a balanced nutritional diet. All boarders from Christian background must attend Worship Services on campus regularly. Family prayer, combined worship service and Sunday school classes are held on campus. Health Services We have doctors on call and qualified nurses on campus to care for the physical well-being of the students. The Academy has an infirmary for those taken ill on campus. Student Hand-Book Parents are requested to look into the hand-book daily to see communication sent from the Academy and may use it for any form of communication to the Academy. Text Books Sale Text books can be purchased only after paying the 1st term school fee/boarding fee. To accept the 1st term fee, please show the Semester Report at the cash counter. Fees will not be accepted before verifying with the Semester Report. Malayalam Text Books are to be purchased by all students from outside. These are not available at the Academy. Attendance Punctual and regular attendance is essential. Leave request should be produced when a student takes leave. If a student is absent from the class continuously for 15 working days without applying for leave, the name of such student will be removed from the rolls. Student Withdrawal Withdrawal of students during the school-year is not generally allowed. However, if a student is to be withdrawn for reasons beyond control, the fees for the remaining term must be paid. This rule is applicable for withdrawal from the hostel and for late admission also. The Principal may require the parents to withdraw their children in case they do not comply with the regulations of the Academy or are incapable of improvement. Transfer certificate will be issued only after all dues have been cleared. Pre-Primary Center For Nursery, LKG & UKG we have separate facilities on campus with toys, equipment and computer aided education. Academy Library We have a first-class library stocked with thousands of volumes, including reference works, The Academy Library serves as an indispensable supplement to classroom learning experiences. By using the library, students at Bethany Academy have a special advantage for in-depth study, and an opportunity to stay abreast of ever-changing events in today's world. The library also subscribes to a number of Indian and international periodicals, journals, magazines and newspapers. Students of classes V and above may check-out books from the library and they may keep the books for a maximum of 14 days. Laboratory Our Chemistry, Computer, Physics and Biology departments have separate, spacious and well-equipped laboratories, where the student can ENJOY conducting the experiments. Computer Studies The Academy conducts specialized classes in Computer from K.G. to XII. Extra Classes On every Saturday except the second there will be classes for X, XI and XII from 10.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m Student Housing Excellent personal care will be given to resident students under the supervision of experienced hands. Students have supervised and guided study in the morning and in the evening when the resident teachers will be available for any help needed. Parents are requested not to make gifts of any kind to the members of the faculty or staff at anytime. Do not bring or send food to your child staying on campus. Parents/ legal guardian may contact the boarders by phone - Boys 0469 - 265 0260 & girls 265 0277 between 4 to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 6 to 7.30pm Sunday. Other times student have no access to the telephone. However, messages called in will be given to them promptly. Resident students should have their clothing marked with numbers allotted by the Academy office; and other articles must be marked with their initials. Three copies of the complete lists of articles belonging to the student must be presented at the time of admission-one list to be stuck to the pupil's locker; one for the student residence file, and the third for the parent or guardian. All the copies will be attested by the Matron/Warden. Christian students should bring their whole English Bible with them. They are required to attend worship and Sunday School on campus. Resident students are allowed to sign out only on second weekends and holidays. Only parents or persons authorized by parents and mentioned in the application form will be allowed to take a student home. Identification card issued by the academy is required. When signing in, the student should first contact the Warden/Matron and only then proceed to his or her residence hall. A student who has had an infectious diseases must not come and be allowed to check in until after the end of the required quarantine.
