Bethany Educational Society was founded in 1978 by the Mathews Chacko Family after their long and fruitful association with Oral Roberts University, U.S.A.. Bethany Academy is a Christian, co-educational , I.C.S.E., I.S.C. residential school committed to the development of the whole person. The Academy is run by the Society which is a registered body under the Travancore - Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955. Since its inception, the Academy has been concerned with educating children in the values that lead to success in life.

The Academy seeks to achieve excellence in teaching, as well as to provide an educational setting which serves to further personality and character development. It places primary emphasis upon the 'Education of the Whole Person' and not of the intellect alone.

Bethany Educational Societies’ Bethany Academy, located among timbered foothills, offers a peaceful and natural environment for learning. Our special topographic features – acres of greenery, canopy of cooling foliage of medicinal plants and trees, the beautiful country side with open fields that surround the campus - provide a fine setting for the all round development of our students.

What we do….

Bethany Academy follows the Cambridge syllabus and offers an academic program from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Academy is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations and prepares students for the year - 10 ICSE and the year –12 ISC (+2) Examinations. The certificates awarded by the Council are recognized not only in India but world – wide as well.

The curriculum is so designed that it contributes to both Indian and International Education.

The special Science Group of the ISC Course equips the student for furthering his studies either in Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Forestry, etc… The Top-up classes handled by experts in the relevant subjects targeting IIT / Engineering / Medicine Entrance Coaching Program prepare the students to seek admission in any University around the world with confidence. We start the Top-up from class 8.

Low teacher-student ratio ensures individual attention that can be given to each student in the classroom, in the residences, in co-curricular activities and in all areas of character development.

After school activities include inter-house and inter-school sports and games, music, drama, arts & crafts, gardening, scouts & guides, various clubs, field trips, etc.

  • All the students in Classes 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 will be taught on how to use‘e-search’ for reference.
  • All students will be thoroughly taught – library reference techniques.
  • Daily assignments as a means to reinforce and develop the subject knowledge will be given to all students.
  • Teaching in a State - of - the - Art Language Lab for improving Communicative English Skills will be provided for all students. This is headed by an American born staff.
  • Targeting IIT / Medical / Engineering Entrance Coaching Program.
  • Talent Development, Seminars, Workshops, Training to succeed in Group discussion, etc. will be provided for all our students.

Life with us….

Life on campus is an exciting part of the Academy experience. What makes it fun and rewarding is experiencing the give and take of living and growing together with people who care and whose friendship is genuine. Separate residence under the supervision of the Warden / Matron and resident teachers are maintained on campus for both boys and girls. Facilities such as block, single, double rooms, quite study areas, special tuition classes, recreation centers, internet facility, well-equipped health club, access to an international standard library stocked with thousands of volumes and so on are available on campus.
